Questions
- What is GoodPDF?
- GoodPDF is a desktop PDF editor. It opens a finished PDF and lets you change the text, images and links inside it, mark it up, sign it, reorder or extract pages, and password-protect the result — without converting the file to another format first.
- Do I need Adobe Acrobat to edit a PDF?
- No. GoodPDF is a standalone PDF editor with its own rendering and editing engine built in, so it does not depend on Acrobat or on any other PDF software being installed.
- Does the PDF editor upload my documents anywhere?
- No. Editing runs entirely on your own machine — the engine is part of the app, so opening and changing a document involves no upload step and no web service.
- What is the difference between Yearly and Lifetime?
- Both unlock the same tools. Yearly includes all future updates for as long as the subscription runs. Lifetime is a one-time payment with a limited window of future updates.
- Is there a free trial?
- Yes. Download GoodPDF and try every tool on your own documents before you decide which plan to buy. There is no account to create — a licence key unlocks the app once you buy one.Download the trial
- Which platforms does GoodPDF run on?
- macOS and Windows. Both are the same application built on the same document engine, and one licence covers you on either — up to five devices. The Mac build needs macOS 12.5 or later; the Windows build needs Windows 10 version 1809 or later, 64-bit.GoodPDF on Windows
- Is there a PDF expert for Windows?
- Yes — GoodPDF 5.0 runs on Windows 10 and 11, with the same free trial as the Mac build. It ships as a zip rather than an installer, and because it is not code-signed yet SmartScreen will warn you the first time; choose More info, then Run anyway.Download for Windows
- Can I buy GoodPDF from the Mac App Store?
- Yes. On the Mac App Store the app is listed under its older name, PDF Reader X. It is the same software.About the App Store listing
